August 2007

The economists predict that India will be a super power economically in and around 2020 (just 13 years away). Out of the total population of India, the high-income group and High middle-income group will be around 200 million people as per their estimates.

During this period the economic growth of the country will stabilize and the opportunity for better return on investment may be less compare to present since the economy will be range bound like any other developed countries. As an emerging economy (India) appreciation for national heritage among the citizens ought to be high (?) and if 0.50%or ½% of this group of population (100000 people) chooses philately as a hobby in addition to the existing collectors, the collector’s base will be increased to many folds.

Moreover most of the above group of people (HIG & MHIG) will be in their prime age of 30 to 40 years and with their matured outlook to pursue this hobby in a more organized way and with their systematic investment plan on stamps, the Indian philatelic market and the value of Indian stamps will reach sky-high.

Today the prices for Indian stamps are low and affordable; do not miss this opportunity to collect/invest in Indian stamps for a better return in the coming years. Don’t forget in World of Philately INDIA is one of the top 10 favorite countries among stamp collectors and already there is a shortage for certain issues are setting-in due to increased demand also remember the GDP of India is racing fast to touch soon the double digit.

JUST FOR A THOUGHT
Present definitive series stamps which are being issued at present without gum are going to be re-issued with gum again?? Is it true!!!

The Sheetlet of Children Film Society issued in 2005 is the lowest among the sheetlet quantity issued so far by the Department of Post?

STAMP WATCH FOR THE MONTH
1948 Gandhi set/FDCs/Folders continued to attract good demand !!!!
Keep an eye on 20 Value Archaeological set both mit and used ?

Collect Modern India First Day Covers – the printed quantities are unimaginably low!!!

I am pleased to release the data for August 2007 on Indian Post Independence mint stamps for the benefit of collectors, dealers and investors.
